Comfort and simplicity, to enjoy the quiet and the countryside in a setting of its own. An old house brought back to life, built in the welcoming Extremaduran style, only 20 minutes by car from Mérida.

It can be rented whole or by the room. With six bedrooms and warm, simple decoration, the Balcón wants you to feel at home.

History

Your house in the village

The idea of the Balcón was born in 2003. Spellbound by the beauty of the countryside covered in wild flowers, I fell in love and discovered everything Alange had to offer: the lake, the castle hill, the spa, the orchids.

The house opened its doors in 2009, restored in keeping with traditional Extremaduran building, and fitted with every comfort to offer somewhere modern and well cared for to stay.

Discover the beauty of simple things

El Balcón de Alange sits inside the village of Alange, on the last slopes of the Sierra de Peñas Blancas. The village holds a great deal of natural and cultural heritage going back to Roman times.

One of its landmarks is the spa, with Roman baths still in use and thermal waters found nowhere else, declared a World Heritage Site together with the archaeological site of Mérida in 1993.
