Through the year the village puts on events that make the most of what it has. There is plenty to do and to discover in Alange.

Orchid month
The countryside fills with wild flowers and the local orchids come into bloom, among them the green serapias, found only in Extremadura.

Alange celebrates the birds that live here: all five Iberian swift species found on the peninsula can be seen in the village.

Emerita Lvdica
For a few days Mérida becomes Emerita Augusta again: a market, an encampment and re-enactments of Roman life all over the city.

Twenty minutes away by car, the Roman Theatre of Mérida hosts its classical theatre festival, with plays staged in the city all year round.
