In a world full of rush and noise, there is a corner of Extremadura meant for stopping the clock. Welcome to El Balcón de Alange, a place of its own born out of our love for this land, for nature and for looking after people.
We are in a setting hard to match, hanging over the striking landscape of Alange, 20 minutes from the Roman city of Mérida. Here the water of the lake, the rock of the hills and the Extremaduran sky come together in a view that changes with every sunrise.
For us, having you to stay is much more than giving you a room: it is opening the doors of our home. We love the countryside around us and we want to be your base camp, so you can walk the paths, breathe clean air and discover what lives here.
We take care of every detail so that, after a day of walking and adventure, you find the comfort, the calm and the rest your body and mind are asking for. Come and lean on our balcony. Come and feel Alange.

With only six bedrooms and decoration that is warm, simple and its own, the Balcón wants you to feel at home.
Three rooms have a double bed and three have twin beds. With room for twelve people, all of them have a full bathroom and heating and air conditioning.
We have one extra bed for the house, on request and subject to availability. Please ask about a cot as well.

Here you will find care in every detail and a personal welcome, warmth, enthusiasm and a way of looking at life that carries across.
The common areas are shared and open to everyone staying, always with an eye on getting along and keeping things quiet.
The kitchen is fully equipped, with dishwasher, microwave, fridge and kitchenware. The sitting room has books, a television, a collection of games, a guitar and information about the area.
A lovely garden with fruit trees, where you can enjoy a quiet spot of your own, read a good book, have a drink or sit and talk.
Because the house sits on the hillside, the ground slopes, and the garden has two terraces, or «canchos», as they are known here.
Pets are welcome, on request.
